Meet the wonderful Kim. This free-spirited surfer was struck by intense vertigo, but this was just the beginning. What followed was a long and hard journey, marked by debilitating symptoms that turned her life upside down. Listen in to her persistent quest to find a quick solution and how that took her through menopause, a life transition, and not having a place to live.
Kim went to such dark places that, for some time, she did not want to go on anymore. Learn how she finally found acceptance and began moving toward recovery. She will talk about how the coaching group and community helped her, why you shouldn't be afraid of needing medication, and the power of spirituality and IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapy. Today, Kim finds reason and great value in her incredible journey.

    Thank you for sharing this video upon the request. I got to learn some new exercises. I tried doing some of them but at this time I am unable to hop at all However, I accidentally got to watch another video of you demonstrating heel to toe walk and some other exercises a while ago. Some of them seemed to be a bit easier and doable with some practice. I don't seem to find that video. Would you mind sharing it. It will be a huge favor that I will highly appreciate. Thank you so much in advance 🙏

      For some people. It's not as common as some other symptoms but often people are "correcting" for prediction errors in orientation with head jerks.

    Dr Yo!! Greetings from Scotland! I would like to ask a particular question if you don't mind. How may ( If any ) of your patients have Multiple Sclerosis. I have been diagnosed with MS for the past 3 years, however my Dizziness has only been through the last 6 ,months, I guess I'm trying to ascertain whether this can be PPPD / or indeed, MS, obviously you cannot diagnose, but opinion for patients with MS would be appreciated. , Colin.

    • @TheSteadyCoach
      @TheSteadyCoach 22 години тому

      Hi Colin! All symptoms are biopsychosocial, meaning they're influenced by your nervous system/emotional well being even when there is a physical cause. There is pretty good indication that even MS flares are biopsychosocial. Now, dizziness CAN be related to physical lesions in MS, but we have folks here with neurological diseases like Parkinson's who've found these methods brought them a lot of relief. The expectations might be a bit different if there IS a physical cause of a symptom but it's rarely black and white- meaning, even if there is a physical cause, in many situations symptoms can be improved by taking care of stress/well being.

      @@TheSteadyCoach Thank you so much for replying, I am, and planning, on watching a lot more of your videos. I have committed some time to date, these are by far the best out there on YT. It’s certainly going to be a long journey. Interestingly enough, I’ve been suffering serious sinus issues for the last 18 months, the NHS over here is not a great organisation so my waiting times are huge. I imagine that has influenced things for myself. May even the cause of this given the amount of stress to date. As I say, thank you so much.

    This made me cry. I’ve been dealing with dizziness/balance issues for 4 years. I was waste basketed PPPD, and I never really thought it was that as I had neck pain/stiffness and a load of other symptoms. I always circled back to the neck as the core source. Hearing her symptoms and story is crazy because it’s exactly what I’ve experienced, with little differences in symptoms here and there. I have OCD and high anxiety which def doesn’t make my issues any better. Like Amie tho, certain activities do not at all cause my symptoms. I’ve noticed when I’m most calm or happy I have zero symptoms, such as hiking, visiting a friend, or on a vacation. As she said, when I get frustrated or anxious even slightly (which is often lol) I noticed it triggers it. For years I was told “I’m fine,” “I’m making it up in my head,” or “I don’t know what’s wrong with you.” So I gave up on drs. Vestibular PT helped me a little, but just distracting myself and working out helped a lot. The more I ignore the symptoms the less they become prevalent. I’d say I’m about 80% better, which is amazing because at one point I was bed ridden and could barely walk. I still have ups and downs, so it’s definitely a journey. I wish I would have seen your videos sooner. I just recently found you, which is crazy because I researched and researched for years before they told me I probably have PPPD. It’s nice to know I’m not alone or making my symptoms up!

    Nice interview. Dr Yonit, is it possible to do a video where you go more in depth about visual stuff? I know you have 3 video's. But i am so curious about the why and how and what happens in the brain when all these things happen. Why there is a delay in processing information...i am still experiencing this every day. I talked to Meghan who also had this. I know it is common. But...i am so unsure how to carry on when feeling this all day. It feels scary. i would love more i fo or stories in detail about this❤

      We may never know what the precipitating (original) vestibular issue was, possibly BPPV or neuritis, but she ended up wth chronic symptoms that were neural circuit (generated by nervous system errors). If you need to know more about that, watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/4QDFGvHGURc/v-deo.html

    Is there a way to know the difference between symptom drift / SHL(sudden hearing loss)?? suddenly my left ear got really full, and I couldn't hear well, but it lasted for few seconds. Is this common?? I don't want to do more doctor visits when it's just my brain creating weired symptoms...
